ABSTRACT

The physico-chemical characteristics of Bito-on Bay were assessed using the following parameters: pH, salinity, conductivity, temperature, dissolved oxygen and filterable solids. Results showed the temperature ranged from 28.43 to 29.7 degrees Celsius, pH from 7.63 to 9.32, dissolved oxygen from 4.10 to 8.56 mg/l, salinity from 29.43-36.03, conductivity fromv45.42 to 55.13 umhos, filterable solids from 0.8005 g/l to 2.213 g/L. More zooplankton were observed compared to phytoplankton.

Results also showed that the waters of Bito-on Bay passed DENR water quality standards for class SC waters.
