ABSTRACT
Angiosperms represent approximately 80% of all the known green plants now living and are the dominant components of the Philippine landscape. In the Philippines, However, knowledge on detailed toxonomy o lowering plants are still inadequate. Vast are in the Philippine Science High School Research Station located in Brgy, Balcon, Jordan, Guimaras. No information has been documented about the flora in this four hectare lot.
This, the researchers decided to conduct a study on the angiosperm flora of the PSHS RS. Approximately 102 plant specimens were collected. This specimens were dried and treated with a solution composed of denatured alcohol, formaldeyhde, glycerin, and water before mounting. Soecimen were mounter into folders measuring 8.5 x 11 and 8.5 x 13. After which , the specimens were brought to the Department of Invironment and Natural Resources for identification and verification of pre-identified plant specimens.
Based on our findings, the most dominant angiosperm family in PSHS RS is Poaceae, the family of grasses, claiming nine plants out of 101 collected 21 specimens have not been identified.
