ABSTRACT
Active dry yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, was used for the alcoholic fermentation of 11% ppure D-Glucose solution in an incubator at 35 degrees celcius – 42 degrees celcius for 7 days. Carbon dioxide production was observable during the process by the bubbles formed.
Determination of ethanol by the distillation method was done on four determinations. The alcohol concentration of the fermented liquids were assessed to have a mean of 13.1 positive negative 1.6% (v/v) and a specific gravity of 0.979665 positive negative 0.0042.
Determination for the presence of ethanol was don on each distillate of four determinations.
