ABSTRACT
The physicochemical and biological properties of Iloilo Strait were analyzed. Analysis were made for pH, DO, temperature, solids (filterable, dissolved, and total), salinity, conductivity, chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, and identification of plankton.
Four sampling stations were chosen for the site. Each determination for pH, DO, salinity, conductivity, and temperature were read thrice and then averaged. The testing were conducted on July 26, October 4, and November 7, 1997. Solids (filterable, dissolved, and total), chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, and identification of plankton were done in the laboratory.
Results showed that salinity ranged from 32.74 to 33.05. Conductivity ranged from 51.51 to 51.95. Temperature ranged from 30.55 to 30.775 degrees Celsius. DO ranged from 5.565 to 6.97. The values for pH ranged 6.41 to 6.975. Percent total solids ranged from 15.144 percent to 17.275. Chlorophyll a ranged from 0.10244 to 0.10244 to 0.4233. Chlorophyll b ranged from 0.16732 to 1.50374.
