ABSTRACT
This study determines the insecticidal properties of marigold flower and oregano leaf extracts against the common mosquito.
To test for insecticidal properties, their effects were compared to that of Baygon, a commercial insecticide as the positive control and acetone as the negative control. Three trials were obtained for more accurate results.
Both plant extracts are toxic to the common mosquitoes. However, results showed that the insecticidal property of the oregano leaf extract was not as strong as that of the marigold flower extract. The toxicity between Baygon and marigold had no significant difference compared with acetone.
