ABSTRACT

This study aimed to substitute Brain Heart Infusion medium with Coconut (C. nucifera) water in growing B. subtilis and E. coli. Five colonies of each kind of bacteria were grown in test tubes for 48 hours. Six test tubes used Brain Heart Infusion as medium and six test tubes used coconut water as medium. The growth of bacteria was measured after 48 hours and the data gathered was compared. The mean and t-test were used as statistical tools. This study proved that Coconut water could be a substitute for the Brain Heart Infusion medium in growing B. subtilis and E. coli.
