ABSTRACT
This static group Investigative Study aimed to determine the anti-bacterial potency of ampalaya (Momordica charantia) seed extract against Staphylococus aureus. It specifically determined and compared the scope covered by the zone of inhibition in (mm.) produced by S. aureus in 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% levels of concentration. It further determined the significant difference in the diameter of the zones of inhibition formed by S. aureus in the five various levels of concentrations. This study involved three phases namely extraction from ampalaya seeds, experimentation and data gathering.
The results of this study showed that the ampalaya seed extract-water solutions at 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% levels of concentration do not have any anti-bacterial potency against S. aureus as shown by the absence of zones of inhibition in the five replicates. No significant difference was observed in the diameter of the zones in inhibition in the five various levels of concentration.
