ABSTRACT
Rabbits have been kept as pets in western nations since 19th century. Rabbits are popular as pets in some countries and in the Philippines. In recent years, there has been an increase in demand for the convenient commercially processed pellets such as those for dogs and hogs business. However, these pellets are highly concentrated with calories that can lead to rabbit obesity which can cause serious health problems for the rabbit. Natural type of feeding on the other hand is theorized as solution for obesity (Berstroom C. 2011). The purpose of this study is to determine the percent change in the live weight of the rabbit in a specific time span exposed to natural and commercial feeds types of wedding. Two groups of three rabbits were acquired and placed into two separate cage groups each rabbit in its own individual cage. The first group was feed with commercial feeds while the second with natural grass. The subjects were continuously fed for three weeks with their respected feeds. Although no conclusions can be made due of the death of subjects, the results showed that the first group increase their average weight by 86.8% and the second group decreased by 28.57%.
