ABSTRACT
This study determined the insecticidal properties of crude extracts from mayana, oregano, and onion leaves against mosquito larvae.
To test for insecticidal properties, their effects were compared to no-treated mosquito larvae as control variable. Three replicates were obtained for more accurate results.
All tested plant extracts were toxic to the mosquito larvae. However, results showed that the insecticidal properties were not as strong as that of oregano extracts and the mayana extracts was the most effective of the three plant extracts.
The toxicity between non-treated mosquito larvae and onion and oregano had no significant difference, but mayana extracts had significant difference compared with non-treated mosquito larvae, all according to the results shown by the T-test statistical analysis.
