ABSTRACT
This study determined the population density and size frequency of ghost crabs (ocypode species) along the Villa Arevalo Beach. Specifically, it determined the population density and size frequency of ghost crabs in the intertidal and supratidal areas of the beach. It also determined the significance in the population density and size frequency of ghost crabs in the intertidal and supratidal areas of the beach. Lastly, it determined the significance difference in the carapace width of ghost crabs and the diameter of the burrow from which it was obtained.
The results showed no significant difference in the number of ghost crabs holes and the size frequency of ghost crabs in the intertidal and supratidal areas of the beach. It showed positive correlation between the carapace width and the burrow diameter from which it was obtained.
The study concluded that there was no significant difference in the population density and size frequency of ghost crabs in the intertidal and supratidal areas of the beach.
