Abstract
The feasibility of coconut husks as the raw material for making paper was being studied in this research work. coconut husks were obtained from Jaro Market, Iloilo City and was made into palp by boiling it in 2% sodium hypochlorite solution for three hours and then the product was grounded. The fibbers were bleached in 2% sodium hypochlorite solution for 20 minutes and were beaten again after filtration. The fibbers were mixed with 12 grams of resin, 10 grams of alum, 5% water and 7.5% starch by mas. The resulting mixture was made into fine sheets. However , no sheet was produced because the fibbers was too thick to be bonded effectively. Consequently, no quality assessment test were performed
