ABSTRACT
A study was conducted to determine the moisture, nitrogen, and phosphate content of four macroalgae collected at Pulang Pasayan, Guimaras. Chemical analysis were carried out at the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Office.
The moisture, nitrogen, and phosphate content of the macroalgae are as follows:
a. Halimeda(7.69%, 0.354%, 1.20%)
b. Sargassum(9.55%, 1.24%, 0.26%)
c. Galaxaura (9.13%, 0.233%, 0.33%)
d. Desmya (12.01%, 1.04%, 0.421%)
Results showed that the nitrogen content which from 0.233% to 1.24%. Phosphate content of these algaes are to the minimum and their moisture content ranged from 7.69% to 12.01%
