ABSTRACT
The study aimed to determine the effects of Virgin Coconut Oil on the level of the antibody titer of broiler chicken against New Castle Disease. Forty-five heads of chicken for broiler production were used and raised at the residence of the researcher at Barangay Pagsanga-an, Pavit, inilo Actual experiment commenced on August 1, 2007 and was terminated on September 15, 2007 Analysis of data was done through computation of the mean and SPSS statistical tool was also employed in the relational analysis.
The study reveals that there is an increase in the titer levels of broiler chicken against New Castle Disease when 1.0 ml and 0.5 ml of VCO were administered. The chicken given with 10 ml concentration yielded the highest average titer level of 1:285, and those given with 0.5 ml got an average titer level of 1:217 while the control group or chicken without VCO has an average titer level of 1:78 One-way ANOVA however showed no significant differences in the average titer levels against New Castle Disease of the broiler chickens administered with VCO at different concentrations and that of the control.
The study concludes that VCO has no significant influence in increasing the level of antibody titer of broiler chicken against New Castle Disease
